The KCCC Live Basket Auction took place in the lobby of  City Hall on December 8 at about 1:30 p.m.  Bidders bid in person or  watched on Time Warren Cable channel 9 or listened on New Talk Radio 1300 WMVO and called in your bids. This auction also included baskets provided by Movers and Shuckers and a bicycle provided by Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Clayborne.

The Centerburg Silent Auction was held this year in the lobby of the Centerburg branch of the First-Knox National Bank. This auction included gorgeous Christmas items and benefitted the Centerburg office of Interchurch Social Services. Bidding began Monday, November 26 and closed at noon on Saturday, December 8.

The annual Food For The Hungry Fredericktown Charity Auction will took place again this year during the Fredericktown Christmas Walk on December 2 at 1 p.m. at the Senior Citizens Center at 2 East Sandusky Street. Community members searched their homes for antiques and collectibles to donate. All proceeds went to the Fredericktown Interchurch and Salvation Army.

The auction raised $2,519 in 2012.

 

In support of the Food For The Hungry in our community, the Knox County Career Center was proud to announce their Third Annual Auction of Goods and Services!  The Career Tech Labs offered services and some products from the Building Trades, Business and Finance Academy, Chef and Catering, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Horticulture and Residential Construction and Remodeling labs.  This auction took place on-line, and was linked to the Knox County Career Center and the Food For The Hungry Websites.  Bidding closed at 5 p.m. on December 7. The highest bids were announced on the FFTH Live Broadcast on December 8. All proceeds benefits the Interchurch Social Services and the Salvation Army.

The 2012 Knox County, Food for the Hungry Gala was held Saturday, December 1, 2012, Gund Commons at Kenyon College. Dinner was prepared by the talented chefs of the Kenyon Inn and entertainment was provided by Padula Oblongata, an acclaimed jazz ensemble. Guests participated in silent and live auctions offering unique items and opportunities. The "Fund A Cause" portion of the evening was the highlight as guests showed their extreme generosity. The evening began with a reception at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:00. Proceeds from this annual gala benefit needy families and individuals in our own county.

This year’s gala honored the late William A. Stroud, Knox County volunteer par excellence, with the first presentation of the William A. Stroud Award for Public Service.

The auction raised $18,894.31.
